have you had your dojo mojo today?

I'll be basking in the sun somewhere on the Jersey shore tomorrow, so before I forget, please refer to this week's calendar for this weekend's festivities.

I highly recommend the Waterbug Arts Festival this Saturday from noon to 9pm at the City Hall Plaza at 280 Grove Street. Organized by the art collective Waterbug Hotel, the festival will feature a dozen performers of various genres ranging from African percussion, reggae, dance, Latin jazz, pop, funk, rock and spoken word, as well as exhibits featuring visual and performance art. Click on the banner below for more info.

If you have some free time before noon or at other times throughout the day, might I also suggest pitching in at the Hamilton Park Planting Day, organized by the Friends of Hamilton Park?

Later that night, you can join the Waterbug after party at The Merchant and Comfort Bistro. Should you find yourselves moving uptown, we also suggest the Monticello Avenue Summer BBQ, which is a fundraiser for the Monticello Main Street. It runs from 6:00-10:00 PM at Moore's Lounge located on 189 Monticello Ave.
